Rocky Mountain Bristlecone Pines
Fall 2006-Ongoing
We are in search of the more common than expected Colorado Rocky Mountain Bristlecone Pine the most abundant and widespread members of the species. Often regarded as an isolated community in the White Mountains above Bishop, California, these trees also have limited occurrences in Nevada and Utah. The Forest Service is somewhat secretive about the exact locations because of vandalism. For location information contact me. I will be adding more images in the Spring when we can return to the high mountain back roads. But here are a few samples.
